Arabians Are Such Intelligent Horses

The weather in Texas has been really horrible in the last week. We have had sleet, snow, rain and temperatures in the teens. We have a stallion at our farm named Ansata Suleyman who is a straight Egyptian Arabian. He is the smartest horse I think I've ever met. Usually that means he needs entertainment or he gets bored pretty quickly. But the horse is so smart - almost smarter then some humans I've met! On Friday he managed to get his foot stuck in the electric wire. My heart was just in my throat seeing this because he is a pretty wild stallion running, bucking and just living his life full of vigor. He is full of life. So Suleyman was standing there with the wire wrapped around his foot and I told him to stand still and come to me - to walk forward. Suleyman did exactly what I told him, never panicked and was out of the wire. It seemed as though he actually knew what I said. There was a study recently saying the horses understand what we are saying much better then we would ever imagine, and I think its true. A climate mangles a rush myth.
